O. Ertuğrul ÖNEN

Chairman of the Executive Committee

Following his graduation from Ankara University The Faculty of Law he started to work as an employee of external transactions in T.C. Ziraat Bankası in 1966. He specialized in foreign exchange for one year. Later, he became assistant inspector in Ziraat Bankası passing a contest examination in 1970.
He joined to the Ministry of Trade as an assistant inspector again passing another contest examination in the same year. He became the inspector of this Ministry then became First Deputy General Director of General Directorate for Exports; than General Director of the same General Directorate and acting Deputy Undersecretary at the Undersecretariat for Treasury and Foreign Trade which was established in 1983.
He worked abroad for eight years as First Commercial Counselor in Hamburg and in Bonn at the Turkish Embassy. 
From 1992 till 1995 he acted first as the Deputy Underscretary of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources; afterwards as the Undersecretary of the  Ministry of Transport; and than as the Undersecretary  of the Undersecretariat for Foreign Trade.
He left the public service on the 1st of November 1995.
He took responsibilities as Chairman of the Executive Committee in private sector between 1995 and 2001. He established European Free Zone during these years and became Chairman of the Executive Committee of this Free Zone. He presently performs the chairmanships of Turkish Foreign Trade Foundation (TDV) and World Turkish Businessmen Foundation (DÜTİV) which he is founder of them.
He is married and has two children.

Münir AKSOY

Member of the Executive Committee

He was born in Kayseri. Following his graduation from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences he started to work as a civil-servant in the Ministry of Trade General Secretariat of Foreign Trade in 1970. Following various duties on some levels both in General Directorates for Exports and Imports then he became Deputy Undersecretary at the Undersecretary of Foreign Trade.
He has been in a position of Assistant Commercial Counselor and Senior Commercial Counselor in Stockholm and London.
He also became the title General Director of Directorate General for Promotion at the Ministry of Tourism for a period of time.
He retired when he was in the position of Deputy Undersecretary at Undersecretary of Foreign Trade. He is married and has one child.

Ömer BERKİ

Member of the Executive Committee

He was born in Ankara. He graduated from Ankara University the Faculty of Law in the year 1972. Following his law internship in 1973 he started to work at the General Directorate of Domestic Trade in the Ministry of Trade. In the following years he worked as Foreign Trade Expert and Chief of Section at the Trade Ministry and at The Undersecretary of Treasury and Foreign Trade; and than as Assistant Commercial Counsellor and First Commercial Counsellor at the Turkish Embassies in Stockholm and Vienna and Hamburg Consulate-General of Turkey; also as General Director at The Undersecretary for Foreign Trade.

He retired in the beginning 2004 from the public service. Since than he is working at TDV and DÜTİV as Member of Board and part time Instructor at the universities Bilkent and Başkent in Ankara. He gives lectures on Trade Law and International Trade Law. He is married and has 2 children.

Mustafa Bağcı
Member of the Executive Committee

He was born in Aydın. After graduating from Ege University he started to work at the SPO-State Planning Organization (today “Ministry of Development”) as expert. After working five years for SPO he changed to Ministry of Trade (today “Ministry of Economy”) department of “Foreign Trade”. Afterwards he worked for private sector for 24 years and than 10 years for TİM-Turkish Exporters Assambly as Deputy General Secretary. He is married and has one child.

Ali Yakal
Member of the Executive Committee

He was born in İzmir. He graduated from Ankara University the Faculty of Law in the year 1973. For a while he worked at the same Faculty as assistant at the Administrative Law department and at the same time as lawyer in Ankara Bar Association. Afterwards he changed to the Ministry of Trade (today “Ministry of Economy”). He worked there almost 34 years in Ankara (with several titles, also Deputy General Director for Exports) and abroad (Paris, Bern and Algeria) as Commercial Counsellor. He is married and has one child.
